Jim has over 45 years of senior vice president corporate management and organization experience with Dow Chemical, Diamond Shamrock and DSC Communications (now Alcatel). His vast knowledge of facility and warehouse design and operations; office management and administration; all types of logistics, distribution and transportation; and management information systems enables him to provide Swearingen with invaluable resources for clients. While at Dow, he was assigned to manage and operate a major distribution terminal with 250 employees in Rotterdam, Holland for two years then transferred to Zurich, Switzerland for three years to serve as director of Dow’s European transportation, logistics and distribution function.
Jim assists President Dan Paterson with major corporate accounts and lease portfolios on major projects. This includes negotiating tax abatements and incentives; preliminary space programming and planning; acquisition and disposal of modular furniture – new/pre-owned; acquisition and disposal of office furniture; relocation/moving coordination and management; and designing efficient distribution center and warehouse layouts.
Jim is a proud father of three children – Kathleen, Kevin and Daniel – and is married to his wife, Ronna. Jim earned a certificate of business from Rutgers, a degree in business administration from Central Michigan University and an equivalent master’s certificate from Columbia’s business school.
